What NH-548D is

NH-548D is a 392 km national highway spur off NH-48 in Maharashtra. It starts at Talegaon Dabhade on the Pune–Mumbai corridor and runs east through Chakan, Shikrapur and Nhavare (Pune district), then Srigonda and Jamkhed (Ahmednagar district), Ambajogai (Beed district) before ending at Ahmedpur (Latur district). It is the backbone road for the Chakan–Ranjangaon industrial belt east of Pune.

The March 2026 elevated corridor approval

In March 2026 the state cabinet's infrastructure committee approved a ₹6,500 crore upgrade of the Talegaon–Chakan–Shikrapur stretch: a 25 km four-lane elevated highway from Talegaon to Chakan and a six-lane surface road from Chakan to Shikrapur. Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) is the implementing agency. Work on the long-stalled project is expected to begin soon — earlier, in a 2024 PIB release, the Union Minister confirmed the Talegaon–Chakan–Shikrapur section of NH-548D would be developed by MSIDC.

Does NH-548D pass through Baramati?

No — and this matters for buyers. NH-548D runs through the northern/eastern Pune district belt (Chakan–Shikrapur–Nhavare), not through Baramati taluka. If a seller markets land as "on NH-548D" anywhere near Baramati, verify the claim on the spot: pull the 7/12 and check the actual distance to the highway alignment. Baramati's connectivity story runs on different corridors — do not let an NH-548D label inflate a Baramati plot's price.

Where land values actually move

Highway upgrades move land value where the road physically passes: villages along Talegaon–Chakan (elevated four-lane) and Chakan–Shikrapur (six-lane) gain drive-time access to the Pune–Mumbai corridor, and the industrial belt around Chakan has already pushed agri-to-non-agri conversion demand. Expect the sharpest movement within 1–2 km of interchanges, not uniformly along the whole 392 km. Factor in that an elevated alignment means no direct mid-section access — you enter at defined points.

Before you buy along the corridor

Three checks: (1) alignment and land acquisition — plots inside the notified alignment will be acquired, not sold to you; verify against the land acquisition plan prepared for the NH-548D upgrade. (2) NA status — agri land near a national highway still needs lawful conversion before you can build. (3) access — an elevated section does not give your plot a driveway. Quick answers

Real questions, real answers.

What is the length and route of NH-548D?

+

NH-548D is a 392 km national highway in Maharashtra. It starts at Talegaon Dabhade (a spur of NH-48) and passes through Chakan, Shikrapur, Nhavare, Srigonda, Jamkhed and Ambajogai before ending at Ahmedpur.

Does NH-548D pass through Baramati?

+

No. NH-548D runs through Pune district's Chakan–Shikrapur–Nhavare belt and onward through Ahmednagar, Beed and Latur districts. It does not enter Baramati taluka. Verify any seller's "on NH-548D" claim against the survey number and actual distance to the highway.

What was approved for NH-548D in 2026?

+

In March 2026 the state cabinet's infrastructure committee approved a ₹6,500 crore package: a 25 km four-lane elevated highway from Talegaon to Chakan and a six-lane surface road from Chakan to Shikrapur. MSIDC is implementing the project.

Will land near NH-548D become more valuable?

+

Land within 1–2 km of the Chakan and Shikrapur sections and their interchanges typically gains most, because of access to the industrial belt and the Pune–Mumbai corridor. Gains are not uniform along the full 392 km route, and plots inside the notified acquisition alignment are acquired, not sold.

How do I check if a plot is inside the NH-548D alignment?

+

Check the land acquisition notifications for the NH-548D upgrade against your survey number, and confirm access and NA status before purchase. Arsa Construction reviews the 7/12, acquisition status and access for buyers free of cost before you commit.
